Ian Paddick, Chief Physicist at the Thornbury Radiosurgery Centre is the new president of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society.

The International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS) was founded as a worldwide non-profit organization in 1991 and remains the leading professional body of its kind. Created to foster learning and research on the topics of brain and body radiosurgery, the society is highly dedicated to:

Promoting technical developments in stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic radiotherapy
Promoting the highest levels of clinical expertise
Convening every two years at the ISRS Congresses

Ian began his career as a Medical Physicist in 1989, working at the Hammersmith hospital, London. Since 1998 he has worked almost exclusively with the Gamma Knifeusing the B, 4C, Perfexion and ICON Gamma Knife models.

He is a regular speaker and moderator at Radiosurgery conferences, teaching on training courses and helping start up new Gamma Knife centres worldwide and his publications in Radiosurgery have established him as an authority in Radiosurgery dose planning.
